Plushie Taxidermy | Pug

A pug, opened for inspection, and quite calm about it.

Mounted on an 8.5" x 11" oval plaque wrapped in pink floral cotton, edged in baby blue pom-pom trim and white ric-rac, and scattered with pearl cabochons — the sort of framing usually reserved for a christening photo. Inside: a ribbon ribcage, chenille viscera, a rhinestone heart, and a small arrangement of ruffled trim standing in for the softer organs. The skin is held open with rhinestone pins. He did not consent, exactly, but he has made his peace.

Vegan taxidermy. Nothing was harmed. Something was thoroughly reconsidered.

Materials: upcycled plush, cotton, ribbon, chenille, rhinestones, pearl cabochons, pom-pom and ric-rac trim, wood.
Dimensions: 8.5" x 11" oval.
Hanging: sawtooth hanger mounted on the back. One nail, level, done.

Assembled entirely at my desk, which means you may find a stray thread or a whisper of glue at the seams. I could hide those. I've elected not to. It's how you know a person did this.

One of one. There will not be another, as I no longer have the pug.
